Carolyn M. Sampselle is the Carolyne K. Davis Collegiate Professor of Nursing at the University of Michigan School of Nursing. She holds appointments in the Departments of Women’s Studies and Obstetrics and Gynecology.
With continuous support from the National Institutes of Health for more than 20 years, she has studied prevention of birth and age related urinary incontinence in women. Her research and scholarship have generated nearly 100 peer-reviewed publications and chapters.
She received her bachelor’s and master’s from The Ohio State University and her doctorate from the University of Michigan.
She is a founding member of the periodical “Every Woman: The Essential Guide to Healthy Living” and received the Pathfinder Award from the Friends of the National Institute for Nursing Research in 2008, recognizing her research contributions to women’s health.
