Amie Newman is a writer, editor and global health communicator. Currently, Amie consults with social good organizations and non-profit news platforms to help bring their stories and vision to life using dynamic, accessible communication. Previous clients have included the NoVo Foundation, Exhale, and Humanosphere.
She is the former (and first) editor of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation blog, Impatient Optimists. Prior to this, Amie was managing editor and senior staff writer for Rewire News (formerly RH Reality Check), an online publication covering reproductive and sexual health and rights issues.
Amie lives in Seattle where she manages to maintain sanity while raising two teenage humans with her partner David, and their dog named Butterly. In her spare time, she works as a volunteer editor for the amazing Medium publication, Ask Me About My Uterus. Amie is thrilled to have been chosen as a 2016 Boehm Media Fellow for the Opportunity Collaboration, an annual conference for social change leaders focused on poverty alleviation, held in Mexico.
