Giving Birth in Iraq - A Father's Perspective

Last week I mentioned this Washington Post story about the dangers of giving birth in Iraq. Yesterday morning I listened quietly as Saleem Amer, a member of NPR’s Baghdad staff, described his wife’s difficult pregnancy and the first hours of his son’s life in the hospital, where the threat of kidnapping by militias loomed large.
