Ending Period Shame and Poverty in Asia

Some women in Japan and China are launching businesses, founding organizations, and creating art to combat period stigma and address period poverty.

“Girls and women around the world are facing severe shortages of sanitary products, sharp rises in product prices, and a lack of access to basic information and services, in part due to COVID-19. This phenomenon, often referred to as “period poverty,” is not reserved for women in developing countries.”
