Periods and the (White) Wimbledon Dress Code

In 2022, Wimbledon announced an almost entirely all-white dress code for tennis players, including visible undergarments. This article discusses the activism it inspired around attire and menstruation. While some argued that menstruation is a natural bodily function that people shouldn’t be embarrassed about,  activists noted the stress and anxiety imposed by the dress code on those that bleeding through the white uniform. The overall goal of activist tennis players is to promote sports policies that “keep menstruation in mind.”
