When Your Romantic Partner Has Parkinson's Disease: An Interview with Laurie Sheridan

Old man holding walking stick

This episode of The Shape of Care podcast features Laurie Sheridan, who speaks with warmth and humor as she describes what it’s like caring 24/7 for her husband, Ira, who has Parkinson’s Disease.

“The big early change was when he had to give up driving and I had to take over driving. Although we’re non-traditional in some ways, he always was the driver when we were both in the car. And that had to flip very quickly. And there’s a lot of power and control that goes with that that I wasn’t totally comfortable with at first.”
