May 7, 2019 | Suffolk University’s Center for Women’s Health & Human Rights, in partnership with Our Bodies Ourselves, is launching Our Bodies Ourselves Today (OBOST), a global online resource that will draw upon OBOS’s 50 years of experience and collaboration with groups working in women’s health, reproduction, and sexuality.

 Our Bodies Ourselves (OBOS) and the Center for Genetics and Society (CGS) today announced the launch of Surrogacy360, a groundbreaking educational website that provides factual information for individuals and couples considering parenthood through international commercial surrogacy while also addressing the complex health, legal, and ethical questions related to the practice.

Educate Congress Initiative Aims to Provide Accurate Information on Women’s Health
Oct. 19, 2012 | Our Bodies Ourselves today is launching Educate Congress, an initiative to provide members of the U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate with accurate, evidence-based information about women’s bodies and reproductive health. The women’s health organization intends to deliver copies of “Our Bodies, Ourselves” (Simon & Schuster, 2011) to each representative and senator.

Our Bodies, Our Votes Campaign Challenges Political Attacks on Reproductive Health
June 25, 2012 | Our Bodies Ourselves (OBOS) today is launching a national education campaign – Our Bodies, Our Votes – that urges women and men to use their political power to thwart attacks on women’s reproductive rights and access to essential health services. The campaign responds to more than a year of legislation by states and threats by members of Congress aimed at imposing severe restrictions on contraception and access to services during pregnancy.

OBOS Hosts Global Symposium on Women’s Health and Rights
Sept. 29, 2011 | Women’s health advocates from around the world will be in Boston on Oct. 1 for the 40th Anniversary celebration of the groundbreaking book “Our Bodies, Ourselves.” Our Bodies, Our Future: Advancing Health and Human Rights for Women and Girls, a free symposium, will take place at Boston University’s Tsai Peformance Center from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Single Payer Healthcare Offers Best Options for Women
June 16, 2009 | Our Bodies Ourselves today endorsed the single-payer healthcare model as the most effective approach for solving the United States’ health and medical care crisis. In a comprehensive position paper, the nonprofit women’s health organization argues that a single-payer model is best positioned to control costs and to reduce financial incentives that have led to both inadequate and excessive medical treatment.

Judy Norsigian Urges Support for Women’s Health Care Providers

OBOS Announces 2009 Women’s Health Heroes Inductees
May 11, 2009 | Our Bodies Ourselves today inducted 20 Women’s Health Heroes, honoring the work of women’s health advocates worldwide. The 2009 inaugural inductees represent seven countries and a wide range of health fields and disciplines. Among them: Elisabeth Bing, founder of Lamaze International; Efua Dorkenoo, an activist against female genital mutilation; Jenni Prokopy, founder and editor of ChronicBabe.com; Susan Corrado, a community parish nurse in Wisconsin; and Bene E. Madunagu, a professor of botany in Nigeria.
