Educate Congress Initiative Aims to Provide Accurate Information on Women’s Health

Our Bodies, Our Votes Campaign Challenges Political Attacks on Reproductive Health
June 25, 2012 | Our Bodies Ourselves (OBOS) today is launching a national education campaign – Our Bodies, Our Votes – that urges women and men to use their political power to thwart attacks on women’s reproductive rights and access to essential health services. The campaign responds to more than a year of legislation by states and threats by members of Congress aimed at imposing severe restrictions on contraception and access to services during pregnancy.

Single Payer Healthcare Offers Best Options for Women

OBOS Announces 2009 Women’s Health Heroes Inductees
May 11, 2009 | Our Bodies Ourselves today inducted 20 Women’s Health Heroes, honoring the work of women’s health advocates worldwide. The 2009 inaugural inductees represent seven countries and a wide range of health fields and disciplines. Among them: Elisabeth Bing, founder of Lamaze International; Efua Dorkenoo, an activist against female genital mutilation; Jenni Prokopy, founder and editor of ChronicBabe.com; Susan Corrado, a community parish nurse in Wisconsin; and Bene E. Madunagu, a professor of botany in Nigeria.
