Ellen Sullivan Mitchell

Ellen Sullivan Mitchell received her Ph.D. in nursing science from the University of Washington in 1987.

As a faculty member at UW, her teaching and research interests were women’s health, specifically women’s experiences related to the menstrual cycle such as PMS and the menopausal transition.

She was also a nurse practitioner in part-time practice focusing on adult primary care.

Ellen is currently retired as associate professor emerita from the University of Washington and is continuing with longitudinal research related to the menopausal transition.
