Patricia Owen-Smith, PhD

Patricia Owen-Smith is a professor of psychology and women’s studies at Oxford College of Emory University. She is currently serving as chair of her division of social sciences and faculty head of the service learning program.

She was named a Carnegie Scholar in 2001 for her work on epiphanies in learning. Her areas of research have focused on women, children and poverty. She has been an active contributor the Association of Women in Psychology.

Patricia is currently completing a book on the use of contemplative practices in the college classroom.
