Praveena Lakshmanan

Praveena Lakshmanan is a doctoral student at Michigan State University. Her scholarship lies at the intersection of the sociology of international migration and gender with interests in South Asian migration, intersectional and transnational feminist theories, Third World and postcolonial feminisms, feminist research methodologies and epistemologies, and other racial, ethnic, and gendered forms of domination. Her dissertation research critically examines legal status variations among South Asian migrants and its impacts on individual/collective agency and gendered experiences.
